Which certificate you need, how long it lasts and how to renew it.

For workplace First Aid cover, choose Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or full First Aid at Work (FAW), based on the risks in your workplace. Both certificates last three years after you complete the course and assessment.
EFAW is the one-day course for core emergencies. FAW adds more injury and illness training over three days of learning.
EFAW provides core emergency learning. Full FAW adds a wider range of injuries and illnesses across three days of learning. Both of our workplace courses are described as Level 3, but they are different qualifications.
Certificates are normally issued within 3-5 business days after full completion, including online learning and assessment.

Secure Certification lets someone check a certificate using its QR code.
If you have lost a copy, request a replacement certificate. That retrieves evidence of the existing qualification; it does not renew its expiry.
Our EFAW and FAW certificates last three years after completion and assessment. Arrange requalification before expiry and keep workplace cover in the plan.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommends annual refresher training. Our online Annual Refresher course helps you revisit the learning. See certificate validity and renewing an expired certificate for help planning renewal.
