A straightforward guide to getting your training up to date.

If your First Aid certificate has expired, arrange the appropriate course to regain a current qualification.
The next step depends on whether you held Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), full First Aid at Work (FAW) or a Paediatric certificate.
For workplace First Aid cover, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requires a current qualification. Arrange suitable cover while you renew yours.
If the role or workplace risks have changed, choose a course that meets the current requirements.
Eligible FAW holders may use the shorter requalification offer; our team format is one day online plus one day in person. Eligibility after expiry needs checking before relying on it.
If you need the full course, blended FAW offers two days online plus one practical day. Share the old certificate and expiry date so we can explain the appropriate booking.
Our online Annual Refresher helps previous learners revisit First Aid topics. It does not renew an expired certificate. For renewal, complete the appropriate qualification or requalification course.
Qualifying course offers include online refresher access to help you keep your knowledge up to date between courses.
Certificates are normally issued within 3-5 business days after full completion, including online learning. Allow for that when planning a work or registration date.
Record the new expiry, plan requalification before it and include holiday or sickness cover. Our validity guide separates renewal from refresher training.
Book a place on a public course, or arrange a private course at your workplace, customised to your team.
