First Aid for pupils and staff, from early years to older children.

For designated early years cover, choose full Paediatric First Aid. For staff supporting older children, Emergency Paediatric may be suitable if it meets the school’s requirements. Include adult staff in the school’s workplace First Aid plan too.
On private courses, we customise practical examples to your pupils, staff and school.
Tell us the pupil ages and situations staff want to understand. We use relevant examples rather than treating every school as the same workplace.
The six-hour Emergency Paediatric course teaches core baby and child emergency skills. Full Paediatric adds wider injuries and illnesses over twelve hours.
Where the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) applies, designated cover requires current full PFA on the premises and on outings. The rules also cover which staff must be trained to count in staffing levels. Someone with full PFA must be present when children eat.
Check which rules apply to each staff role. Our EYFS guide explains the framework’s requirements. Ofsted does not approve individual First Aid courses.
School staff may also need adult workplace certification. Add an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate to either Paediatric course for a small fee, with no extra training time. We can cover adult and child skills together.
Our full Paediatric course also offers an optional Ofqual-regulated certificate for a small extra cost if the school asks for it.
Full PFA combines six hours online with six hours practical. Train your team at school, with examples suited to your pupils and staff, or book public places for individual staff.
Plan cover for the school day, meals, outings, absences and requalification. Give learners time to complete required online learning before the practical session.
Arrange relevant school training and the certificates your team needs, with private on-site courses or places on public courses.
