Can I Take a First Aid Course While Pregnant?

Talk to us before booking so we can discuss your circumstances.

Pregnancy does not automatically rule out learning First Aid. Talk to us about the practical activities and any individual health advice so we can discuss the course with you.

You do not need to decide from a course title alone. Understanding what happens in the session helps you and the team plan participation appropriately.

What Activities Are Involved?

Practical learning can include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) compressions on a manikin, recovery-position practice and other activities at floor level. There are also explanations, demonstrations and opportunities to ask questions.

  • Tell us which movements or activities concern you.
  • Share relevant individual advice from your midwife or healthcare professional.
  • Ask about the actual assessment for the chosen certificate.

Talk to Us Before Booking

Contact our team privately about your circumstances. We can explain the tasks and discuss appropriate arrangements for the proposed course.

For health concerns, ask your midwife or healthcare professional for advice about taking part.

Learning and Practical Assessment

We can discuss appropriate support and adjustments. To receive the qualification, you need to complete the course and demonstrate its required skills.

Getting Ready for the Day

Use your joining instructions, complete required online study and wear comfortable clothing. Our preparation guide describes the practical day.

If circumstances change before attendance, contact us so we can discuss the next step rather than leave the conversation until the assessment.

Talk Through the Practical Day

Contact us about the course and your concerns before booking, or before attending if you already have a place.
