Learn what to check when choosing your First Aid training provider.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) no longer approves individual First Aid training providers or courses. Employers choose suitable training for their workplace’s needs.
The approval system changed in 2013. HSE’s guidance explains how employers can check the quality of a provider’s training, assessment and qualifications.
Use HSE’s current guidance when choosing a training provider. Check the course syllabus, teaching, assessment and certificate against your workplace’s needs.
Manchester First Aid Training provides practical trainer-led courses. Learners see demonstrations, practise with equipment and receive feedback, rather than just watch a presentation.
Our syllabus guide explains course content, and the gallery shows actual training. Private teaching is customised to your workplace while covering the chosen qualification’s requirements.
Course level and regulated status describe different aspects of a qualification. If your employer asks for a specific qualification or awarding organisation, send us the details before booking.
An optional Ofqual-regulated certificate is available on our full Paediatric course for a small extra cost. Select that option if you need this certificate.
EFAW covers core workplace emergencies. Full FAW adds a wider range of injuries and illnesses. Use the needs assessment and HSE’s staffing starting points to decide appropriate cover.
This HSE guidance concerns Great Britain. If your employer’s arrangements are in Northern Ireland or another jurisdiction, use the applicable authority and requirements.
Book a place on a public course, or arrange a private course at your workplace, customised to your team.
