What Does Basic Life Support Training Cover?

Basic Life Support teaches CPR, defibrillator use, helping someone who is choking and caring for an unresponsive person. You practise with CPR manikins, defibrillators and choking jackets.

For the practice’s adult workplace cover, start by considering Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) for core emergencies such as collapse, choking and bleeding. Full First Aid at Work (FAW) adds broader injury and illness training where the work calls for it.

The employer must check likely injuries, the people at work, shifts and cover for absences. That workplace certificate is separate from the full clinical training and medical-emergency arrangements your dental duties may require.
