First Aid requirements can be confusing.
And if you’re running an educational establishment — such as a
nursery, school, or university — it can be particularly difficult trying to
understand exactly what your legal obligations are.
Manchester First Aid Training can help.
We provide fun, interactive, life-saving courses to schools across the
North West. From Manchester First Aid at Work courses, to mental health, fire
safety, and more.
The Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all
organisations to have personnel that are able to provide immediate
attention to those injured or taken ill.
That includes all nurseries, schools, and universities, where accidents
are statistically more likely to occur.
So, First Aid training is essential for every educational enterprise.
There are also regulations surrounding specific roles. For example,
Ofsted require all childminders and nursery staff to be Paediatric First
Aid trained.
📌 Recommendation for Schools, Childminders, Nannies, and those working with children: We recommend the Emergency Paediatric First Aid course (which covers under 18s, sometimes known as “School First Aid”) – and to upgrade your booking to include Emergency First Aid at Work certification (which covers the place you work in), with no additional training time.
📌 Recommendation for Nurseries: We recommend the Paediatric First Aid course, which is a more comprehensive First Aid course for those under 18, and ensures compliance with the EYFS statutory framework. We also suggest that you upgrade your booking to include Emergency First Aid at Work certification (which covers First Aid for the adults in your nursery), with no additional training time.
